A significant number of bills are "dead" for the rest of the session, as they did not move out of their substantive committees by the deadline that passed this past week. Under the chamber rules, bills that have not moved out by the deadline will be re-referred to the House or Senate Rules Committee. While it would be on an individual basis, the chamber may vote to dischard the Rules Committee and send a bill back to committee or extend a deadline to keep it alive.
