ICEP's public awareness campaign to help educate the public about seeking emergency care for flu symptoms is underway, and a set of informational posters is in the mail to each emergency department in Illinois now.

An electronic informational flier that emergency departments may use to distribute as needed is also available now for downloading.

Both the posters and flier focus on helping the public to determine when their flu symptoms require a visit to the emergency department. Two posters are available -- one of symptoms for adult patients and one specialized for pediatric patients. All materials are available in English and Spanish to reach a wide audience.

The posters have been sent to every emergency department director in Illinois and should be received by the end of the week.
