Rebecca B. Parker, MD, FACEP, President-Elect of the ICEP Board of Directors, is one of four candidates elected to the ACEP Board of Directors this year during Scientific Assembly in Boston.
ICEP congratulates Dr. Parker on her accomplishment and wishes her every success during her term on the Board. Dr. Parker’s candidacy was endorsed by both ICEP and the ACEP Section of Young Physicians.
“Throughout my career, I’ve always turned to ACEP and its members of education and advice,” Dr. Parker said in her campaign statement that was distributed to ACEP Councillors before the meeting. “I intend to give back to the College that has given me so much.”
In her campaign statement, Dr. Parker also discussed some of the ideas she hopes to implement as a Board member.
One of her initiatives is to establish an extensive library of knowledge that provides answers to common questions in emergency medicine, including issues related to coding, business structure, fair practice environments, clinical guideline consensus, educational needs, advocacy, and health care reform.
Dr. Parker stated that her goal is to build up the ACEP brand as “an easily accessible, reliable repository of information,” making ACEP “the Library of Congress for medicine.”
“When anyone, from graduating residents to the President of the United States, asks medical questions, ACEP should be the first group they consult,” she said of her goal. |
