Spring Course Reservations

Fall Course Reservations

To get the most out of your experience, ICEP recommends staying at the Chicago O’Hare Marriott, located minutes from O’Hare International Airport with free shuttle service available. The ICEP room rate is $179 per night plus all applicable taxes. The cut-off date is March 16, 2020 for spring and August 19, 2020 for fall.

ICEP recommends you arrive in Chicago the day prior to your course date. Reductions in the number of flights by most air carriers in recent years have made air travel less predictable and may cause unforeseen travel problems that could delay your arrival at the course site. Such travel problems can make same-day travel very stressful and otherwise problematic and may cause you to miss the course.

Your course registration schedule cannot be altered to accommodate travel delays. You are at risk of losing your seat in the course if you have not arrived by the beginning of candidate orientation for your assigned session.

What Our Expert Faculty Say

“Mastery in anything requires currency and competency in that field of discipline. In emergency medicine, while conferences, textbooks and journal articles contribute, the “gold standard” is evaluating and treating many, many patients, over and over and over. It’s common knowledge that the ABEM Oral Board Examination is not supplanted by essential clinical experience – but the examination remains an obligatory hurdle one must clear to achieve mastery. The superiorly methodical ICEP Oral Board Review Course uniquely offers the candidate complete and rote drill instruction, familiarization and desensitization to the exam process, and precise step-by-step experience to ensure the candidate’s successful passage of this critically important career hurdle.”

— Edward L. Fieg, DO, FACEP, FAAEM, ICEP Oral Board Review Course examiner at 16 courses, 2007-2017

“I have been a faculty member for the oral board review course for the past 14 years.  Each time I participate as faculty at ICEP’s Oral Board Review Course, it reminds of me of my own preparation for the exam. The ICEP course offers one-to-one interaction with experienced faculty, delivering challenging cases that allow the participant an unparalleled opportunity to review clinical knowledge as they practice the art of giving and taking cases. Faculty offer personalized feedback and are available throughout the day for questions.  I would highly recommend the course to any emergency physician studying for the exam.”

— Eileen Couture, DO, FACEP, RN, MS, CCHP-P, ICEP Oral Board Review Course examiner at 24 courses, 2003-2017

“Being a practice examiner has been a rewarding experience. There are many unique aspects to oral board exams that are far different from written exams or direct patient contact. The course directors take the participants through each aspect of the exam process, and then the course participants get to use their knowledge while taking realistic cases in a setting that mirrors that of an actual oral board exam. As an examiner, it’s satisfying watching many candidates who struggled through the first few simulated cases later breeze through the cases by the end of the course. That’s the difference ICEP’s course makes. For those participants still not feeling confident, ICEP faculty offer focused breakout sessions and additional training. This course provides participants with a huge advantage over those who just walk into the exam cold turkey.”

— William Sullivan, DO, JD, FACEP, ICEP Oral Board Review Course examiner at 15 courses, 2006-2017
