Basic Skills:

Target Audience: Physicians with limited or minimal experience, seeking hands-on practice on the most frequently used ultrasound techniques

Advanced Skills:

Target Audience: Physicians with prior ultrasound experience seeking hands-on practice for advanced skills less frequently seen in the emergency department. Prior ultrasound experience or completion of ICEP’s Basic Skills session is required for registration.

Live models for skills at both course tracks!

Program Objectives:

• To perform hands-on principles of basic and advanced emergency bedside ultrasound such as AAA, FAST and cardiac exam
• To demonstrate the use of bedside ultrasound to diagnose acute life-threatening conditions, guide invasive procedures, treat emergency medical conditions, and improve the care of emergency department patients

Cancellation Policy:

Hands-on workshops for ultrasound-guided nerve blocks

ICEP presents a half-day program that aims to reduce the administration of opioids with ALTO techniques for pain management in the ED

Overview:

Nerve blocks are an effective way to treat a wide array of acute injuries while reducing the risks and side effects associated with systemic opioids. Ultrasound guidance facilitates a safer and more accurate performance, with access to nerves that are not traditionally performed with the blind/landmark-based technique.
