Legislative Update – Week of January 28

The following legislative report from ICEP’s lobbyists is from the week of January 28; the report was delayed due to closures caused by the weather.  Legislative sessions were cancelled the week of February 1 due to the weather, so there is no updated activity.

While the House and Senate were not in Springfield this week, bills were introduced during Perfunctory Session days.  Members are scheduled to retu to Springfield February 1^st and 2^nd.  Committee hearings have been scheduled for some bills as early as next week.

The deadlines for introduction of substantive bills are currently set for February 10^th in the Senate and February 24^th in the House.  Bills will begin to be heard in committees upon retu of the members.  Session days are scheduled in each week during the month of February.
